AI’s ascent into defence software

A defence aerospace consortium — comprising BAE Systems, Leonardo UK, MBDA UK, Rolls-Royce, and the UK Ministry of Defence — engaged Outsmart Insight to assess the opportunities, challenges, and risks of applying AI to software development in high-assurance environments. The study focuses on three areas: how AI can be integrated across the software development lifecycle; how to leverage AI while maintaining software integrity and regulatory compliance; and the impact of increased automation on workplace culture and training.
